Just a quick update on two concerts Ella did last week:
On Tuesday (19th), she had the immense pleasure of conducting the University of Sheffield Chamber Choir for the final time. They sang a variety of Bruckner’s motets, and also his immense Mass in E minor. There is a new track on her Soundcloud of Christus Factus Est under her direction; do have a listen if you like!
On Saturday (23rd), Ella sang beside the wonderful St George’s Singers, under direction from the brilliant Neil Taylor. The concert was Shakespeare themed, and she sang with the lutenist Jamie Akers. They performed two Robert Johnson songs (Where the bee sucks and Full Fathom Five), and The Silver Swan by Orlando Gibbons. She started the second half with some Madeleine Dring (Take, O take those lips away and It was a lover and his lass), and finished with the final two movements from Jonathan Dove‘s sublimeĀ Ariel.
Stay tuned for more events coming up this week!
