DESCRIPTION:_REMIX will run two workshops for members of the LGBTQI+ community to inform the creation of their new Baroque drag performance\, After Violence. \nHeld on Saturday 3rd November at the Sackler Centre\, Dulwich Picture Gallery\, the workshops will share work-in-progress\, exploring creative practice around queer interpretation in music\, theatre and performance art. Workshops will be led by Benjamin Tassie and Finn Beames\, with vocalist Ella Taylor and drag queen Rhys Hollis. The workshops and will be a safe-space to share experiences and help shape the creation of After Violence. Participants will not need to prepare anything ahead of the workshops. \nWORKSHOP ONE: GENDER AND SONG\n1130AM-1PM\nLed by composer Benjamin Tassie\, participants will work with non-binary vocalist Ella Taylor to explore the process of ‘queering’ in vocal performance. Ella will share their work interpreting songs by Baroque composer John Dowland for REMIX’s After Violence. Participants will be invited to share their own experiences around gender and masculinity\, and to respond to the work-in-progress. Rhys and Finn will share their work responding to songs by Baroque composer John Dowland for REMIX’s After Violence. Participants will be invited to share their own experiences around gender and masculinity\, and to respond to the work-in-progress.
